Silver haz to have surgery :(

I have a lump that my doctors want removing ... I wouldn't mind, since it's been giving ... let's say ... 'bother', but it's on my face. And since it has to be surgically removed, I'm going to have a scar on my face. SILVER IS NOT HAPPEH.

Still ... at least my headaches might stop!

Now, all I need is a cure for asthma ....

But, you'll be okay, right? I mean, this should make you better, yes?

(all my artistic talent has disappeared, or I would attempt to draw you something, umm, but know that I'm thinking of you.) ::hugshugshugshugshugshugs::

I just had a lump removed from my areola. I am on LJ in an attempt to distract myself scratching the stitches.
I am only 29 but my Mum died of breast cancer when i was 15, so I figure a scar is a small price to pay. I dont get the pathology back til next week, but better out than in right?
I figure, this new scar just adds to to patchwork i already have, they are all stories. Some mark the trauma that was my birth (i was cut during my emergency C-section birth), some mark interventions that saved my life as an adult and one marks a spot where another 9 year old got a little pissed that i got the last chair in musical chairs and took a swing at my face. I wouldnt erase any of them.
hope your little surgery goes well and you gets lots of love and good care xx

In this case, the cure is inevitably better than the alternative.

Besides, scars are trendy. It'll bring all the boys to your yard, or something like that. :)

Where is it on your face? Will it be too noticeable?
You know, scars are sexy and you can have a mystery as how you got to have it!
Good luck with your surgery honey and I hope doctors do a good job so you won't get a very big scar!

Hugs!

If it's going to stop your headaches, it can't be bad! And scars are sexy :D

I think the project I'm working might make you happy, I'm sending you a link as a private message, I hope it makes you laugh, it´s really silly :D

I hope it goes well, better to get rid of it than have it causing trouble! Besides, scars aren't bad, you can make up funny stories about how you got it.
I knew someone who accidentally stuck her arm through a window and has a huge scar on her arm now. Whenever someone asked about it she'd come up with a different story about it and see how long they believed her. Shark attack, got in a fight with a rodeo clown, freak sledding accident (during the summer), etc.

Oh, dear, I'm sorry to hear this. But I know it will all turn out well. :)

Scars can be interesting, but if you have the option, my brother Will (a plastic surgeon) suggests you talk to your doctor about the possibility of having a plastic surgeon do the opening and closing on your surgery. He said it is done all the time in the US, particularly during facial and hand surgery, and helps to minimize scarring. Also, after the incision has healed, the plastic surgeon can then further minimize the scar with laser surgery.

And if you ever find the cure for asthma, let me know!

If you can get some Mederma scar cream and start applying it once the wound is seal and is still bright pink, the cream will make the scar fade to pretty much none-existent.

I used that on my breasts when I had a reduction. Almost completely invisible.

Hope it goes well!!
Also, if someone asks you how you got the scar you can make up some 'badass' story...

With technology these days, maybe the scar won't be as noticeable as you are thinking.

But hopefully this will provide relief for you. *hugs*

"done all the time in the US"

That's in the US though, Silver is in the UK, things are different here.

Aw. *hugs you* But a scar is better than a lump that is giving you "bother" of any kind.

I know Silver is in the UK, but I think it might be worthwhile to ask her doctor about the possibility, don't you?

Hmm ... I suppose.

I'm just worried I'll end up looking like Two-Face from Batman XD

Irrational fear, but ... it's there! :S

I'm just saying, there's no point in telling her all about the US and the procedures there when she can't get there. Haha!

I'd rather not have the scar ... *sniff*

I'll hopefully be fine, and hopefully this will make me better.

If the headaches don't stop, then it's something else, and the whole rigmarole starts again! pah!

*MASSIVE HUGS*

My doctor agrees with 'better out than in' - I'm not even getting a biopsy, just having it whipped out.

I get what you're saying about scars having stories, and it does make me feel a bit better. Maybe it shall be an ice breaker? XD

I'm not exactly sure why you feel the need to argue about this, but Silver won't know whether it is available in the UK until she asks her doctor.
