FIRST PART of SILVER'VERSE | The Ballad of Ianto Jones: Keeping Promises

FIRST PART of THIS FIC | Starting Over

Ianto jumped awake as a speaker above the door fizzed and crackled, the sound of a horn blowing through it and waking up the sleeping rescue ship. Button was spooned into Jack’s back, having rolled over in his sleep, and he lifted his head blearily as he tried to remember where he was. Jack was stretching and yawning, pulling himself up and disentangling himself from Button to give Ianto a sleepy morning kiss.

Button watched them for a second, wistful, then averted his gaze. He busied himself waking up the Miss Sato computer (well, switching her on, but Button liked to think of it as waking her up) and talking to her instead.

Crossing to the wash basin and mirror in the corner, Ianto inspected the patch of hair that had been re-grown since the night before, seeing how it now blended perfectly with what had managed to survive the explosion. He felt a twinge of nausea as the remembered the events of the day before, and pushed it aside to concentrate on where he was now.

Button excused himself and went to get washed and changed in his own quarters, leaving Jack and Ianto alone.

“Sleep well?” Jack asked with an air of false relaxation. Ianto picked up on it easily.

“Erm ... yeah. Wha ... what’s up?”

“What do you mean?”

“You sound ... I dunno. You sound like ...” Ianto shrugged, unable to think of a word to describe his thoughts. “Off. You sound a bit off.”

“I’m fine.” frowned Jack, then turned his back to get changed into the standard issue t-shirt and trousers the rescue ship provided for them. They were tight and black – and Jack looked good in it. Ianto slipped his arms around his waist from behind, rested his chin on Jack’s shoulder and kissed behind his ear.

“Love you.” he murmured against his skin.

“I know.” sighed Jack. “I’m just ... yesterday ... you could have died.”

“But I didn’t.” Ianto replied, giving him a gentle squeeze. “It’s all fine. Everything’s fine. And we’re arriving at the Senate today and we can sort everything out.”

Jack turned and pressed their foreheads together. “I can’t lose you again.” he muttered, eyes closed. “We have to be careful.”

“Careful, not paranoid.” Ianto pointed out, stepping away from him to get himself washed and changed. Not that he needed to wash. He just liked doing it – feeling water on his skin, the scent of soap, the feel of a towel rubbing him dry. Especially if Jack was holding the towel. “Jack – I’m worried about Button.”

Jack didn’t reply for a moment, playing with the hem of his black t-shirt and sitting on the bed. “I ... heard.” he said awkwardly.

Ianto turned. “You were eavesdropping?”

“Hardly eavesdropping when you’re talking in the same room.” Jack argued. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t help but overhear.”

Drying his skin, Ianto began to get changed, wondering what Jack expected him to say.

“Well?” prompted Jack.

“Well what? I think you heard everything last night.” Ianto replied curtly, pulling his shirt over his head and turning back to Jack.

Jack drew in a deep breath, but Ianto spoke again before he could begin.

“When Button tried to kiss me ... why did you do nothing?” he asked irritably.

Jack raised an eyebrow. “I didn’t realise he tried to kiss you until after you pushed him off.”

“You still did nothing.”

“I trust you, and your rather archaic notions of fidelity.”

“My ‘notions of fidelity’ have changed quite a lot over the years.” Ianto replied coolly. “You’re lying. I could have had sex with him, and you wouldn’t have minded. In fact, you’d probably have watched.”

“Is this really the time for this? Can’t we wait until we’re safely in our lodgings at the Senate?”

Ianto paced a little. “Why did we let him come?”

“If he wasn’t here, you’d be torn to pieces by a greedy assassin and I’d be the prisoner of a deranged Senator on a power trip.”

“No. We’d be floating around in space after our ship had been destroyed, trying to locate the teleport drive in the wreckage and get ourselves home safe and reporting the incident!”

“I’d rather be here.”

Ianto paused and sighed. “Sorry. I think ... I think I’m still jealous.” He lowered himself onto the floor, leaning against the wall, and Jack moved to sit beside him.

“You’ve got nothing to be jealous of. If anyone should be jealous, it’s me. I mean ... the second you came into the picture, he lost all interest in me ... he tried to kiss you! He hasn’t made a move towards me for over eighteen months, and now he’s after my partner.”

“You’re jealous I’m getting his attention? You want his attention for yourself, is that it?”

“You’re being jealous again.” Jack sighed. “Let’s just ... be careful about Button. Careful, not paranoid.” he repeated Ianto's own words to him. They were silent a moment, until Jack drew breath to speak again. “Do you like him?” he asked quietly.

Ianto averted his gaze. “He’s ... he’s lovely. And cute. But ... I do find him tempting.”

“Mmmm. He’s so young.”

“Yeah.”

“He needs someone who’ll take care of him.”

“He has Lennie. Okay, she’s a little off at the moment, she just doesn’t realise what she wants yet.”

“Yeah.” agreed Jack. He sighed again and tipped his head back. He took Ianto's hand and squeezed it gently.

“It’s my fault.” Ianto told him sullenly. “I made her Director. Now she thinks she’s above him.”

“It’s not your fault at all. If they’re going to come together, they’re going to come together – no matter what their job description is. Look at us – the Captain and the Tea-boy.”

“Coffee boy.” scowled Ianto.

“Mmmmm. Coffee. D’you think they’ll have a coffee machine on board? I’m in need of either good sex or good coffee ... hey, what d’ya think about maybe inviting Button-“

“Yeah okay.”

“ ... wha?”

“Us. Fooling about with Button. Sounds like fun.” grinned Ianto.

“Really?”

“Why not?”

“Cool.”

“Cool.”

Ianto thought for a moment. “When we get someplace a little more stable, we could ... suggest it.” He made a start to get up, and turned to help Jack up, too. “Y’know ... I’m missing our little house.”

“Me too.” Jack agreed. “At least there we could sleep in the bed.” he smirked.

“Shut up.”

They were interrupted by the speaker fizzling and crackling again. “Docking at the Galactic Senate in five minutes. All passengers must be Visa checked before being allowed to leave the craft. All medical staff must present all medical files for inspection. All engineering staff must present logs of the voyage. Please ensure you have your paperwork ready upon disembarkation.”

Ianto bit his lip. “Better go and make sure there’s a copy of our visas on the database, or we’re up shit creek.”

“Yeah.” agreed Jack. “We’ll fetch Button on the way. They’ll probably want retinal scans and finger prints.”

Button was chatting happily to Miss Sato when they knocked and entered his room. He was much happier than when he’d left that morning, and he seemed to be glowing with excitement. “When will we get to see Lennie?” he asked, grinning.

“As soon as we get a copy of our visas. Our hard copies were on the Ambassador ship.” replied Ianto, giving him a small smile.

“Already done it.” he replied, showing them a small information port. “Downloaded onto there; backup copies, just in case.”

“He does planning ahead better than you.” smirked Jack. “You’re losing your touch, Ianto.”

“You’re losing your hair, but I never say anything.” he retorted, and Button and Ianto smirked to themselves as Jack instantly started pulling at bits of his hair to make sure it was staying rooted.

The floor shuddered as the ship sealed itself into the bay, and Jack, Ianto and Button began to make their way to the airlock. Jazz met them there, balancing a large number of files on her hip and talking avidly to a female companion, bright pink with long, peach waves piled on top of her head. She turned a warmer shade when Jack shook her hand and introduced himself, which Ianto figured was probably a blush as she emitted a high pitched squeak and tweaked his nose, babbling in a language he didn’t understand. Jack did, and laughed along with her.

As they disembarked from the craft, they did indeed need to give retinal scans, as well as having the documents on Button’s backup information port thoroughly checked. They were led to a small holding cell, which was still comfortable, containing three beds and a small sofa. They nominated Jack to go and give their report to the authorities, and Ianto and Button sat heavily on the couch while they waited for him to come back.

“It’s mainly about insurance.” Button explained. “They’ll want to know if it was a fault with the craft that made it explode. Oh, they’ll probably want to know how we got there too, and that will open up a whole new case. Damn, we’re gonna get drawn into legal proceedings ...”

“At least we’re here.” shrugged Ianto, moving onto the floor as the couch creaked ominously. Button wordlessly dropped a cushion by his own feet where Ianto was about to sit, and Ianto gave him a brief nod of thanks, which he returned with a small smile. They found that Ianto could lean back against the sofa without it moving, and relaxed. “Oh ...” Ianto remembered. “Um ... Jack heard us talking last night.”

“Oh.” breathed Button. “Did he ... did he say something?”

“Yes and no.” Ianto shifted a little.

“Did he ... was he annoyed I ... does he know that I tried to ...”

“Yeah ... but ... y’know Jack. Thoroughly modern. Turned him on more than it would have pissed him off. It doesn’t matter. We’re pretending it didn’t happen, remember?”

“Yeah ...” Button agreed quietly, his eyes drifting to the back of Ianto's head, where it rested by his knees.

“Good call on the backup, by the way.” Ianto commended him.

“After that incident with your little computer virus last year, I’ve backed up everything.” Button replied huffily.

“Ohh yeah ... that virus was genius though. You’ve got to give me that ...”

“You wiped out over a century’s worth of work!”

“Actually, I just moved it.” smiled Ianto, turning his head to look up at him. “If you’d have looked in the file labelled ‘Look in this File’ you’d have found everything.”

“... what?”

“I didn’t delete anything, I just moved it.”

“I ... have you ... have you any idea ... any idea how long it took me to get those systems working again? I didn’t sleep for days!”

“It’s not my fault you didn’t look at what was in front of you!” snapped Ianto. “Anyway, it’s sorted now.”

“Yeah. No thanks to you.”

“Yes thanks to me. I told your little flying monkeys to check the folder. If they took all the credit ...” Ianto shrugged to make his point. “I had other things on my mind.”

Button slapped the back of his head in irritation, and Ianto retaliated with a light, almost playful punch to his leg. They wound up play-fighting pitifully, laughing together until a sharp knock on the door interrupted them.

“Come in?” Ianto called, getting to his feet and pushing Button back onto the sofa when he attempted to get up. Button tried again, and Ianto pushed him two more times before letting him stand, sniggering to himself.

The door was pretty much flung open, and in walked Lennie in a well-cut pencil-skirt suit and two burly body-guards behind her.

“Well, here’s Tom and Dick,” she said, pointedly boring her gaze into Button on the word ‘Dick’. “but where’s Harry?”

Ianto raised an eyebrow. “Someone swallowed a Bitch Pill. Nice to see you, too, Lennie.”

“I’m busy and stressed. And I wasn’t expecting to have to come and give formal identifications today.”

Button checked his watch. “Sorry for being such a chore.” he scowled. “Missed you, great to see you, have you cut your hair? Anything you’d like to say to me at all?”

Lennie folded her arms. “Still desperately pining after Jack, then?”

“Nope.” Button replied cheerily. “I came all this way to see you, and it’s almost like you don’t appreciate it.” He held his arms out to hug her, and she sighed into the embrace, letting her bossy exterior slip when Button whispered something into her ear. She giggled like the old Lennie used to, but broke apart from the embrace and slipped back into her persona.

“It’s them. But where is Jack?”

“Giving a full account of what happened and how we got to the point of needing to be rescued.” sighed Ianto.

“What did happen?” she asked.

“Can’t say. Procedure.” Button replied.

“Ah. Yeah. Hmmm.” said Lennie. “Anyway, I’ve got a debate to get to. I’ll see you boys later!”

She turned on her heel without giving them any other form of farewell and the door swung shut and clicked locked behind her.

“She’s changed.” stated Ianto.

“Yeah.” agreed Button.

“It’s my fault.”

“How’d you work that one out?”

“I made her Director. I forgot what ... what Directors always turn out like.”

Button regarded him a moment, then glanced at the door Lennie had just exited through. “It’s okay. I think ... well ... everything’s fine for now. If she leaves me, she leaves me.”

Ianto took his place back on the floor as Button sank into the sofa. “You sound okay with that?”

“I think ... she’s too good for me. I always knew she’d ... she’d move on. Even before she was Director.”

“That’s not true!” Ianto chastised. “You’re worth every inch of her, and if she can’t see that it’s her loss.”

“You think so?”

Ianto turned to look up at him and smiled. “I know so.” Button smiled back, and edged forward until he could drop onto the floor beside him. Ianto draped an arm around his shoulders and squeezed him comfortingly. “If she carries on being so ... bipolar ... forget it. Move on and find someone worth the effort. Look at everything you went through to get here – and everything you pretty much got us through – and you didn’t even get a ‘hello’? She only hugged you because you pointed out how bloody rude she was being.”

“But ...”

“But what? You deserve better. Yes, she’s done so much for you, and yes she’s done so much for me and Jack – that doesn’t mean I have to excuse her for turning into a bitch.”

Button bit his lip, and Ianto forced himself to relax when his dark-curled head rested itself on his shoulder. “I ... I don’t want to be by myself ...” Button admitted quietly.

Ianto squeezed him again. “Don’t worry, Button. Jack and I will take care of you if ... if that should happen. Well, you’d probably be taking care of us, judging on everything that’s happened so far.”

By way of reply, Button gave a small laugh. “It was mainly Miss Sato. I just ... hooked her up and ironed out a few glitches.”

“You’re a brilliant hooker though.” Ianto smirked, unable to resist the ball Button had thrown. His young companion laughed again.

“You’re so lucky, Ianto.” he sighed. “You’ve got Jack, and he adores you. He’ll do anything for you. I just ... I wish I had that again.”

They fell silent, both of them deep in thought, until Jack was led back to the cell.

“Alright?” Ianto asked, trying not to move as he realised Button had fallen asleep on his shoulder.

“Everything should be fine in a couple of hours or so.” Jack replied with a whisper as he sat down beside Ianto and sleeping Button. “How is he?”

“A bit ... heartsore. Lennie was here earlier. She’s ... changed.”

“Mmm.” Jack agreed, putting his arm around Ianto. Ianto decidedly did not feel jealous when Jack’s fingers brushed through Button’s dark curls before coming to rest gently on his head. “What a trio, eh?” he sighed.

Ianto gave him a questioning look.

“We were targeted by an assassin, teleported on board said assassin’s ship, spent six hours baking in a boiler room, you got kidnapped, me and Button got high and went flying, the ship self-destructed, you got exploded, finally we get rescued ... and then treated like we’re the criminals!”

Ianto laughed once. “We’re gonna be okay though?”

“It’s nothing to worry about. Formalities. We’ll be let out once Senator Jura has left the craft to be questioned in a Port of Law. Unless they have anything to ask us, I doubt we’ll be called back. Vocal lie detectors and all that.”

“Yeah.” Ianto agreed, nodding a little and feeling Button’s hair graze his cheek. Button opened his eyes blearily and sat himself up, rubbing his face and yawning.

“Sorry.”

“S’okay.”

“Heyyy! Jack’s back!” he grinned.

“That I am.” Jack grinned back. “Should be outta here in a couple of hours.”

“Good. I need chocolate. And a bath.”

“Oooo.” sighed Ianto. “Bath and chocolate ...” He gave Jack a sidelong smirk.

Jack returned it, and flicked his eyes suggestively over to an oblivious Button in silent hint. Ianto rolled his eyes and Jack sniggered.

~*~*~*~

“Ooooo this is nice!”

They had been shown to their suite, and it was, similarly to their original craft, the lap of luxury. Ianto wandered round with Button, testing the kitchen appliances and some of the food on offer. Jack went from room to room, picking things up, looking at them, putting them back and generally just being nosy. He eventually arrived back at the kitchen smiling smugly to himself.

“What?” asked Ianto.

“I think there might have been a bit of a misunderstanding with our booking ...”

“How’d ya mean?” asked Button, sipping some purple juice, deciding he liked it and gulping some more down.

“There’s only one bedroom ... with one massive bed.” Jack beamed.

“What? Why? They know there’s three of us!” scowled Ianto, passing Jack some chocolate and a glass of water.

“Yeah! Exactly!”

Button rolled his eyes. “They think we’re a triad.” he explained. “I’ll sleep on the couch ...” he sighed.

Ianto blinked, and Jack’s face fell. “Ohhh nooo. Button can sleep with us. He can’t sleep with us, can’t he Ianto? He did last night.”

Glancing silently between the two of them, Button stepped back.

“The bed’s probably not reinforced anyway.” decided Ianto. "I’ll sleep on the floor ...”

“Oh no, it will be.” chipped in Button. “They have to cater indiscriminately here – and there’s aliens out there who weigh more than you do.”

“... who could also be in triads ...” Jack chipped in innocently.

“As long as we only sleep.” Ianto eventually conceded. “Totally platonic, okay?”

Jack grinned and ate his chocolate.

~*~*~*~

Button fell asleep first, and Jack carried him to bed, laying him gently in the middle of the mattress and tucking him in. They had found that Button had been right: everything was reinforced and Ianto could sit or lean on pretty much anything without it buckling. He felt like he did when he was at his and Jack’s little house by the beach: normal.

Jack checked to make sure Button was comfortable, and decided he was feeling quite tired himself. In the middle of getting changed into some issue pyjamas when Button gave out a cry and writhed, waking suddenly and staring around wildly. He calmed when he saw Jack stood by him, looking concerned.

“You okay?”

“Y-yeah. Bad dream.”

“You get them a lot?” he asked, climbing in beside him, flicking off the main light and settling for the dim, bedside lamp.

“More now than I used to.” he murmured, lying back down again and wiping his brow.

“You want to talk about it?”

“Not really.”

“Okay.”

“Jack?”

“Yeah?”

“Y’know ... when we were ... you and me, y’know.”

Jack turned on his side to look at him, and Button mirrored the position. “Yeah?”

“Did you ... did you ever ... did you think you might have been able to love me?”

Jack bit his lip and averted his gaze. “Does it matter now?”

“No ... I suppose not.” Button conceded, turning away.

“Sorry.”

“S’alright. You ... you get some sleep, love.”

They fell quiet, both thinking in the dark as Jack extinguished the bedside lamp.

“I find you tempting.” Jack said unannounced.

“Tempting?” frowned Button.

“You’re young, you’re good-looking, you’re clever and you’re kind. There’s an ... innocence to you. I find you tempting.”

Button rolled until he was facing Jack in the dark. “And?”

“And I think Ianto does, too.” he whispered conspiratorially.

“He doesn’t. He pushed me away.”

“He’s old fashioned like that.” smiled Jack. “You’re a little wonder, Button.”

“If it wasn’t for Ianto, would we ...”

“No.” Jack cut him off. “If it wasn’t for Ianto I’d have moved on already.”

“Oh. You bastard.” he laughed.

“Yeah.” Jack smiled. “But ... you know what I am. It hurts so much to stay in one place. Best to just ... not get attached.”

“You’re not attached to Ianto?” Button raised an eyebrow.

“Well, obviously. But ... I can keep him forever. If we’re careful.”

“And ... you’re not attached to me?”

Jack sighed, and Button could sense his smile falling in the dark. “Yes. I do care about you. But ... it hurts to know that one day you’ll die, and chances are I won’t even remember having this conversation, never mind who Ivan Jackson was.”

Jack hadn’t realised how close to Button he had sidled, and was now holding him. Button sighed into his chest.

“I don’t know what I want anymore.” he admitted. “I was so sure about Lennie ...”

“We’ll talk in the morning.” Jack shushed him, and Button yawned wide in response.

“Yeah.” he agreed, settling and closing his eyes. Jack kissed his hair as he had done the night before, and gave him a comforting squeeze; a gesture he so far only really related to Ianto.

Jack fell asleep, but Button couldn’t find his restful mind again. His thoughts were crowded with Lennie, Jack and Ianto, and how close he felt he was getting to the latter. He was young and naive, but at least he knew it, and Ianto and Jack were both ancient (by Button’s standards) and pretty worldly-wise. True, Ianto was a little out of synch with things, having been trapped underground for the last two centuries, but he certainly had a very different eye to put to things. Button loved Ianto's eyes, even if they were cybernetic. Sapphires, onyx and mercury that sparkled and glistened with the life and love behind them, always watching, assessing and learning. Button wondered idly if he could possibly get his own eyes taken out and replaced, when the mattress in front of him dipped and Ianto climbed under the covers.

“Hey.” Button whispered.

“Sorry, did I wake you?”

“Nah. Can’t sleep. And Jack’s breathing down my ear.”

“Yeah. He does that.” Ianto replied affectionately.

“I know.” Button replied, and nearly kicked himself for reminding Ianto that he and Jack were once together.

“Mmmm.” Ianto muttered. “Well, goodnight.”

“Ianto?”

“Yeah?”

“I think I might break it off with Lennie before I have to suffer her doing it.”

Ianto was quiet a moment. “It’s up to you. But you said yourself you didn’t want to be on your own.”

“Yeah ...” He bit his lip in the dark, then reached out and put a tentative hand on Ianto's stomach. “... but ... maybe ... I wouldn’t have to be?”

He could sense Ianto frowning at him in the dark, but he didn’t shake off the hand. Feeling brave, Button pinched the cotton between his fingers and played with the material a little.

“I don’t know what you’re suggesting.” Ianto eventually replied.

Button took a deep breath and steeled himself. “You ... and me ... and Jack. You said you and Jack would take care of me. And we will all take care of each other. We ... we’d be great.”

“You’re suggesting a triad?” Ianto told him, eyebrow raised. He did like Button ... he also loved Jack ... could he really have them both? He reminded himself that Button was very temporary compared to himself and Jack. Could they let themselves fall in love with him, only to lose him to Torchwood, a nasty accident or disease – or worst of all, old age? Ianto supposed that triads were not uncommon, and he was up for trying pretty much anything ...

“We could try it. And if you don’t like ... I’ll step back, and ... and I’ll stay back.”

“You just want Jack.”

“I want you both, and you both want me.” he whispered, feeling Ianto move into his touch and shifting his hand as Ianto rolled onto his side, squeezing his hip and growing more confident. Jack murmured something in his sleep and his arm snaked tightly around Button’s waist, pulling his arse into his crotch.

Ianto swallowed.

“Is he hard?” he asked, his voice low.

“Very.” Button smirked, running a finger over the top of Ianto's waistband. His eyes met Ianto's in the dark. “Should we ... help him with it?”

“Would seem ... logical ...” Ianto stilled Button’s hand on his waistband, lifted it slightly and shuffled closer.

“Is that a yes then? If Jack’s okay ... us three? Together?”

Ianto paused for a moment, thinking.

Not sure a triad is a practical. Maybe I'm just too 21 century. But I'd be happy to pay very close attention while these three give it a go!

As much as I adore Button, I don't know how I feel about him being a permanent thing in the middle of my Janto. Although...I wouldn't be opposed to an occasional three-way...hmm *wanders away with that thought in mind*

I won't mind if they have one or a couple of thressome encounter, but a triad? I, well it's mostly that I'm a full Janto girl and I really don't like the idea of someone sharing what they have.

Oh Lennie...and I liked Lennie...what happened to her? She was so cool.

I feel bad for Button, especially with how much Lennie changed, but I really don't want to see anyone come between Jack and Ianto. Maybe Button can find someone on at the Senate. :D

i'm a little skeptical on this whole triad thing. but maybe i've just read too many jack/ianto/john fics that have gone to hell/been done badly. or maybe i just like my janto plain and not with extras. but i'm willing to go and see what you have in store.

I think a triad would be something really cool to construct and understand. I believe they can work as long as everybody is open. They could each have their own little personalities/relationships with each other. That is an awesome idea. I really hope people agree with me!!!
But I guess everyone wants that. Hmmmm....

Y HELLO THAR NEW CHAPTOR, I C U!
there is something about button, that in this chapter I just couldn't feel bad for him. I know I should, and I know he's going through a lot, but there's a part of me that's just going: he's being selfish by coming in between jack and ianto, especially after it took them so long to find each other again. I loved the character when he was first introduced, and I still like him, but the way he's been acting here and the very and of the last chapter... it seems like at one point he's acting like a child who had a bad dream and want to sleep with his parents, and the next he's trying to seduce them. I understand that he's hurting, but it's coming across weird to me, and not a good weird.
like most people have said, I like my janto plain. I do not want to see button as part of this arrangement for anything other than sex. it's one thing for them to have the occasional threesome until button finds someone, and the situation they're in at the very end of this chapter? jack won't say no. the captain jack we all know and love would NOT say no to kinky sex with ianto (a threesome falls into the definition of kinky for now), but I cant see the three of them making this work long term. especially since button is practically on the rebound-he said it himself, he wants to find love again. also, just because he's in lust with jack and ianto, doesn't mean that he's in love. I really, really, think that a triad between them would just seem forced.

You’re losing your hair, but I never say anything.
AHAHAHA. priceless. <3
I did like this chapter, and I can't wait to see what you do next, whatever you decide.

No, no, no...sleeping around before breaking up with the DIRECTOR of Torchwood is not a very good idea. That way lies madness. Go to sleep, then talk about it rationally in the morning, young man.

*Slaps Button on the wrist*

...out of curiosity, who does everybody think of when picturing Button in their heads?

Hey Silver, I know I've already commented on this one, but did you see the cast listing for GDL's Cinderella panto? Take a look at the last character's name.

Nahhhh.

Buttons is traditionally the name of Cinderella's butler in British pantomime, because he wears a jacket full of buttons.

... another coincidence that's slipped by my recently. I think I might be losing my mind ....

Ah, didn't know that. As I've said before, this'll be my first panto... so much to catch-up. Still, I like my idea better, that you'd been panto-plagerized. Ah well.

All these things that've slipped your mind... ever consider that you've been retconned?

My plots are less predictable than RTD's.

I had to be stopped.

Yep. I was gonna blame RTD for it. He just can't allow people to enjoy Iantopia.

I think they 3 have a pretty good friendship started. Although not opposed to a little fooling around, I don't like the idea of a permanent triad..I'm not sure Button could deal well with just sex just now though. On rebound, he may find himself more involved emotionally and getting hurt again.

Just read the new fic straight through. Love this as much as the first. I think the interactive option is brilliant. Can't wait for the next chapter.
