  • 23:04 Trying to listen to 'Hidden'. Gaawd, there is so much description that barely anything has happened in the last 15 mins. no spoilers please #
  • 23:07 Saville used the phrase 'the Welshman' to refer to Ianto. My expectations have plummeted. #
  • 23:10 ... and they keep saying 'cell phone'. How very in character of them. #
  • 23:11 @kamiandcat haha thanks. At the mo it just seems to be a huge load of description, a list of things happening, another load of description... #

Worst part of that audiobook?

Owen's so-in-character speech to Gwen about how she "is the heart of the team and she can't let go of her normal life because they need her to remind them of their humanity". So something I can hear him saying in my mind.

Omg that bit was soooo cringey! Ugh I was __ this close to skipping ahead it lasted thatfreakin' long. He got to the point ... Then reiterated it ... Then reiterated it ... Then said it again, for luck.

I feel bad for Naoko having to read it.

I actually read a transcript of this, because it was after my "not buying anything Torchwood related unless Gareth profits" phase that I thought about listening to it. But I'd bet that Naoko would be brilliant, because she is brilliant - and sexeh, but I didn't say that - and it's a shame she had such a load of tosh (no pun intended).

I quite liked the whole taking care of Ianto thing, but disliked the fact that this essentially took him out of action for the whole thing so the writer didn't have to botherr with him.

'taking care of Ianto' ... standing by him and talking about his chances of NOT living so that he can overhear, then sending him off in a helicopter on his own and completely forgetting about his existence until the final paragraphs? I suppose in the Whoniverse, that does count as 'taking care of Ianto' XD XD

If either of the new audiobooks are read by Gareth, I will buy the one that is (or both, if that's the case ...). I don't want to give any more money to the TW fanchise, if I'm honest. After purchasing all the novels, the exclusive to audio audiobooks, all three series, Jack and Ianto action figures, three issues of That Awful Magazine and paying my license fee, I think I've spent more than enough. Some of it I don't even like. I bought them for Ianto and Janto.
